New Year, new dreams, new goals. May this year bring you and your family happiness, health and wealth.

This year, I’m highlighting Dad’s out here working towards their goals. I believe sharing insight on how they got there can help us all believe, “If you dream it, you can achieve it.”

Our first group of Dad’s come from Turbion Carrera the luxury time piece for the average Joe and did I mention at a affordable price? YES BABY!!!I Two out of the three dad’s come from the same neighborhood I grew up in “Uptown” baby!

We had the Opportunity to ask the founders of Turbion Carrera Ronny, Timothy and Angel a few questions on how they came together to build a watch brand.

  1. How long have you been in business and where do you see your brand in 5 years?

Angel– We’ve been in business for 2 years now. We see ourselves being nationally recognized as the first authentic urban watch brand. To also have a Smart store to help inner city youth with the resources needed to help them become entrepreneurs.

2. What made you decide to start a Watch brand..and how did you get started?

Angel– The past 10 years, I’ve been in all type of business ventures. Some were small successes but there were a lot more failures until my wife had a talk with me and told me straight up, Do something you “LOVE” and change your luck. I’ve always loved watches. I was the kid staying up till 2 am watching those QVC Invicta watch infomercials on a regular basis and always noticed how at least in my eyes having a dope watch elevated your outfit. So, watches definitely checked both boxes for me. I knew I needed a team so I reached out to my guy Ronny another watch lover and he was down with the idea. Then through my sister in law I met Timothy another watch lover and he also was on broad to bring this idea to the market.

3. What advice do you have for Dad’s chasing their dreams?

Angel: My advice for them is to find people you can trust and bring them in on your vision. Being a dad is a full time job and there’s only so much you can accomplish with your time, skills, and talent. I always think of the saying “it’s better to owe a part of something big than 100% of nothing.

Ronny: Believe in yourself and your vision ! Never Quit ! Always move forward no matter how many times you have to take a stop to reset.

Tim: Do it! I am a strong believer in people doing what they can to fulfill any dream they have.  Another part of that advice is to be consistent  when you decide on working at that dream. It may be cliche but its the truth. It is a marathon.  You put one foot in front of the other consistently and as long as you are moving forward , you will eventually reach your goals.

4. How do you create a work life balance and what are some of your favorite things to do with your kids?

Angel: When there’s something pressing that I have to do while I’m with my kids I include them in the activity, like helping me pack orders and I actually pay my teenage daughter to help so that she can learn about business and money. My favorite thing to do with my teen is go to the gym, just love to see how focused and disciplined she is at such a young age. My favorite thing to do with my 6 year old is snuggle up on the couch and watch cartoons or movies together.

Tim: The work life balance goes back to time management. Setting aside business times and family times helps you stay focused towards that particular  goal.  For example, we have dinner everyday together as a family with no distractions. That hour at the table is designated to all of us catching up on each other’s day.  It gets us connected daily with family time  without interfering with business times because it is already allocated into my day. Which is a great segway to what I enjoy doing most with my kids. Talking to them is the best time I find with them.  Talking to them about everything and anything. Whether it’s them asking me for advice or them debating with me on a topic, just hearing their thoughts, dreams and feelings  constantly amazes me.

Ronny: Communicate with your team your schedule and with time this will set expectations . Favorite thing is to Read books to my child. The thought of reading to your child develops creativity and imagination into your child, much needed in today’s world.

  1. The watches look incredible. I am a dad who financially supports my kids (mothers of children + kids) from a distance. I don’t get to watch them grow up, because they’re all in California. That was a goal of mine. I am happy for them. Wish I could be there. Gained some interesting wisdom from this post. Wishing you all financial success!

    1. Hey, Thank you and sorry to hear hopefully that changes.nThank you and likewise.
