Do some art and crafts

If there is one thing that kids love, it is getting messy! Why not invest in some art and craft items so you can create some things together? You could have a go at paper mache, create collages from items around the house, or do some painting. There are limitless options! Why not look at Pinterest who has many ideas for different art and crafts that you can do with the children? Or see if your kids have anything, in particular, that they want to try.

Go fishing

Fishing is a great way to get out of the house and spend some time relaxing out in nature together. Pack a picnic and teach your kids all about the different elements involved in fishing. From learning about the different fish to the techniques used, it is sure to be an informative and fun day out for all. Check you have all the right equipment before you go and don’t be afraid to upgrade what you have! A PISCIFUN Salis X reel can be a good idea for taking your fishing up a level.

Do some baking

Another way to get messy and creative together is to do some baking. Baking is great fun and can teach your kids how to make many different things that they can then eat after. There are a lot of recipes out there that you can try, from cakes and biscuits to bread. You could even try making a gingerbread family which you ice to look like you all.

Go on walks

A walk is a great way to spend some quality time with each other and be at one with nature. Find a local route that has plenty of open space and be sure to wear sensible shoes and clothing! There are so many walks you can do, even one through your local park is sure to be great fun!

These are just a few activities that you could do with your kids this year. Make sure you bring a camera with you as you are going to want to remember these moments for years to come. By doing activities together you will create many great memories that they will always remember – and learn lots of valuable skills together along the way.
