I couldn’t imagine myself away from my children when they were first born. I was blessed to be around full-time when Milian and Ella were born. Coming from the “Music Industry”  it opened doors for me and I started my own business as a “Music Consultant” aka A&R.  Unfortunately, starting your own business and creating your own hours are not always an option for new Dad’s. That’s why I was all in when #DoveMenCare started their #PaternityLeavePledge . I signed up with the quickness, Dove Men Care has my pledge!

Don’t make Dad’s choose between a paycheck and their kids. It’s time for a change!  If you’re a Boss of a company and a Dad, this should be an easy  decision to make.  As of right now, only 15% of Men get paternity leave in America, 73% of U.S. Dads today agree there is little workplace support for them and 69% of dads are willing to change jobs if necessary to be very involved in the early weeks/months of caring for their newborns.

When your baby arrives the only thing you’re thinking about is spending every second with them. Not only for your baby but you also want to be there for the mother of your child. After carrying a human being for up to 40 weeks its only right that the dad can be there to help. Yes, life continues and bills don’t stop coming in.  There needs to be a paternity leave built in for Dad’s.  Don’t keep Dad’s from bonding with their child from the beginning.
